"Thirteen Eyes in the Night" (c) 1997 J.F. Kelley I Wait. My life, my heart on hold; (A rosebud waits, in time unfolds.) I Need. My waiting needs are clear; (The rose needs light when spring is near.) I Feel. My feelings sharp and deep; (The springtime vines begin to creep.) I Wait. In sunset's fading glow; (The setting sun melts winter's snow.) I Fly. Unbound, my soul will soar; (Springtime Sun frees winter's spoor.) I Long to see your car arrive (In spring, all Nature comes alive.) I Wait. I Brood, while darkness comes. (The crickets crick, as nightime hums.) I Watch each car that passes by (I Watch, I Need, I Wait, I Cry.) Waiting in the car. |
